He invited me to play the game with his friends but then one of them started saying "We don't want black people here". And I was just wondering, why do people still say things like that in 2021?

i think it's possible for someone who seems to be a "nice person" to have an offensive joke or two up their sleeve
that's not to say they're necessarily racist or anything
it's just possible
so be cautious if you go into games with strangers

Yeah I'm sure it is. I've actually had a lot of those kind of people. They seem nice but then they make a little comment about you and it shows who they really are.
