Was in the middle of 8th grade, in gym class.
I was talking with my friend about girls and how they like it when guys are nice to them. The whole "if you want something, be nice to get it" type deal.
The girls started crying and stuff, and one girl said "oh, so you think women should have rights or whatever? You're such a feminist!"
One of the boys had been playing around with me earlier, so he just joined in calling me that, too.

I remember when my mom told me what a feminist was.
My response was "Well if that means equal rights, then yeah."
