L4D2 is finally here! But before you can get started, there are some things you should know about. So if your not one of the lucky ones who have pre-ordered it, then read on. 1: How To Play: First, go to game page and click 'play'. Now, once in-game you'll see a menu with several choices on what mode to pick (the default choice will be campaign). There will also be a new thing called "game server", which means that multiple players are playing in different games (it's like private servers). 2: The Menu And Other Stuff: The menu contains options for every game option, like when choosing survivor, you can change their special perks or choose their gender. Another important feature is changing the difficulty; this feature only changes the difficulty of infected and survivors. When you start playing the game, don't expect to find weapons just lying around because they must first be crafted by scavenging material. One of these materials are wood scraps; but keep in mind that there is a limit for each weapon that you may craft. For example, when crafting an assault rifle you need two wood scraps but its limited amount is three, so don't waste them! 3: Infected: Infected come into groups consisting of five members; Tank, Charger, Jockey, Boomer, and Hunter. Each type of infected have advantages over the others, so better be ready for any kind of surprise attack. Remember that a group of hunters or boomers can spawn more than one member. Here are the descriptions of the five types: Tank: Tanks are big targets carrying heavy weaponry. They can take many hits from most weapons before going down, and have powerful melee attacks that can kill even healthy survivors within seconds. While tanks cannot sprint as fast as humans and are usually slow moving targets, they tend to move quickly after being alerted by sound nearby survivors' location, making them extremely hard to escape. Boomer: Boomers are very dangerous threats due to their ability to summon large numbers of common infected in great distances at once. After attacking a human target, a boomer leaves behind a cloud of bile vomited from their mouth that attracts common infected to the area where the bile landed, similar to a proximity mine. These common infected often overwhelm survivors while other infected work together to kill individual survivors or separate small parties from the main pack. Survivors who run through the bile clouds have a high chance of becoming inflicted with the "Bleeding" status effect, causing them to lose blood health and bleed out if not treated with medicine soon enough, further increasing risk during the infection's early stages. In later levels, survivors will also become inflicted with the "Sick" status effect after walking through bile clouds. Charger: Chargers are some of the fastest threats the game has to offer. Their main tactic involves charging toward a survivor and tackling them, stunning them briefly which gives the charger time to deal massive damage before escaping unharmed. The charger is able to do this several times per level until killed off completely. Because chargers are capable of covering long distances between packs without stopping and have no difficulty navigating narrow spaces such as hallways and doorframes, they make excellent scouts who alert entire packs when a single charger spots a lone survivor alone and unguarded somewhere across an otherwise deserted part of the map. Hunter: Hunters are stealthy predators who specialize in hunting groups of survivors throughout lengthy pursuits. Hunters possess faster speed than average humanoids and are highly agile, allowing them to climb on top of buildings and scale ladders just like normal survivors; however unlike regular playable characters, hunters can jump much higher into air using a series of backflips (similarly used for traversal purposes) and execute mid-air double-jumps via doing so repeatedly consecutively (which results in a longer flight path). During combat sequences against multiple adversaries, hunters perform quick slashes upon each enemy one-by-one rather than going all-out attacks head-on by simply walloping onto everyone else at once instantly regardless whether they are knocked down or not (however it should be noted though that hitting even only ONE person counts towards finishing up an onslaught). Jockey: Jockeys are fast but weak melee attackers that latch themselves onto human targets. They move quickly, especially when alerted by noise nearby survivors' location, making escape near impossible unless being lucky to find an open area away from infected presence while dodging bullets flying around freely everywhere. When attached, jockeys use their arms as weapons dealing moderate amount of damage depending on how close they are positioned next to its victim; meanwhile while they aren't touching anyone directly yet still within range, they'll continue stabbing randomly outwards constantly attempting to cause further harm. It's best practice never approach jockeys ever again since most often than not people end up losing more health trying fighting off those creatures compared losing it slowly over time due poor healing supplies available.
