Hehe, I just read this on Wikipedia.
"TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimensions in Space) is an acronym, commonly used to refer to the spacecraft with which the Doctor travels throughout time and space in the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. The Doctor is a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey who travels through time and space in the TARDIS in search of adventures. The name is not actually an acronym but a word formed by joining together parts of two words."
