the plot sounds a lot like the first one
but instead of going to the moon, they're going to space
and the alien race looks like the aliens in the original mario movie (which is strange because they weren't even aliens. they were just giant bugs.)
anyway, this could mean that it's just an attempt at cashing in on nostalgia and not a good movie
i don't know.
just my opinion.

You do realize this is a spin-off?
The film will be based around Luigi, Peach will have a bigger role compared to the previous film where she was kidnapped by Bowser every time and Mario has a smaller role compared to the previous film where he was the main protagonist and Yoshi won't have a role at all compared to the previous film where Yoshi was the sidekick character and Toad will have a role similar to the previous film where Toad was the sidekick character.
Also, there will be a new cast of characters.

I think it will be better than the previous film. The reason why the previous film was bad because it felt rushed and unoriginal because they didn't make an original plot, they just made it similar to the Super Mario Bros. video game.
