this is how it was formatted, not the actual homework
"so you see these numbers over here. now what if we were to do this thing that i showed you in class with those numbers?"
"ok"
"now can you just do what i showed you but using this new thing?"
"ok"
"oh hey now you have these numbers but they're negative. and you already know what to do with them"
"hmm"
then i took out my calculator, did it, and got the correct answer.
the problem was, she asked us to solve for x when we had y. I was like "wtf".

i am also pretty sure that the way she formatted it, i wasn't supposed to solve for x.

I should also add that she gave us another problem to do.
"and can you show me how you do that on your calculator? because i need to know how to do that too!"
"ok"
it turned out that what she wanted was a piecewise function that would check whether or not a number is even. (which makes sense)
so i put it on my calculator and showed her.
"wow you're really good with calculators!"
i'm like "no u"
"this is why i love you!"
"i said no u."
