I'm just going to say this and I don't want any "well you don't watch it" comments or anything, Rick Grimes dies because he's a leader. When a leader is assassinated the people start to turn on each other and when there isn't an actual real leader they lose all hope in ever being safe again. Rick has lost everything. I think that what is causing him to be so aggressive and have such terrible thoughts and actions is the fact that he's been stripped of his family and is unable to protect those around him which leads to the fact that he's been separated from the group he had led. Basically, Rick Grimes is going to die because he's too prideful to admit defeat.

Depends on how you see it. If you think that the world is pretty much gone you'd be more likely to feel sad. But if you believe that things will get better you'll find the series uplifting.

The only real reason that I've come up with so far that can get rid of him though is the fact that they already have too many deaths and if they were to kill off Rick Grimes, then that would pretty much make them lose all of their viewers. It may seem like Rick Grimes could just become a side character and not a main one but there is some speculation that this may happen because if the TV show continues to be popular then they're going to need the plot to continue forward in some way.
