I mean the most recent consoles are getting older and older. Also the hardware gets more complicated, but there isn't much innovation in terms of graphics. The only thing that really changes is resolution. Even with all the graphical power in the world, you still won't be able to play Crysis 1 with everything maxed out without lag.
