i'm pretty sure they just want you to think that, it's actually not true.
i've been in multiple conversations with people who got banned and none of them say they got banned
you can also see it on the forums themselves, there are no threads or replies about getting banned.
it's a common thing people say on OT so people don't feel like idiots if they got banned because they were acting dumb (which is what happens 99% of the time)
but it's actually just a joke

oh my god shut up everyone knows this lol i have never gotten banned and neither has anyone i know except for my friend and he only got a 3 day ban for making an alt spamming something about anime
i have nothing else to say

if i was trying to get banned i could easily do that instead

who said anyone here wanted to be banned?
no one did, it's just something people say because it's a common thing on OT. It's something that gets said out of habit or some dumb reason.

just use the forums or something and say "look i didn't get banned"

you're right, people shouldn't pretend to get banned if it's easy to show proof.
but you should really ask yourself why people do it
most likely because it's become a common thing on OT
