The only creative part of video games are the graphics and the gameplay. The rest is pretty much the same as the other ones. For example, all FPSes are basically just Call of Duty or Battlefield.
For RPGs, they all follow the same formula: Start out with level 1 character, obtain equipment, upgrade characters, and eventually kill boss. That's pretty much it.

You're wrong. For example, Minecraft was an interesting game because it did something different than what other games were doing at the time

Minecraft is not a game though. It's a building toy. The reason why it's so popular is because of the mods, and it's a free game for PC. But if you buy the Xbox One version, you can't download mods or even play multiplayer. It's completely unplayable on the console.

Minecraft was a game until it got ruined by the mods and updates that added all of these unnecessary features. Now it's just a building toy like you said.

But that's your opinion. I personally think that Minecraft is a great game. Building a skyscraper using only blocks is very satisfying.
The mods are also very cool. There's one called the 'Super Mario mod' that makes the whole game resemble Super Mario Bros. I haven't played it though.

Well, that's why I'm playing it right now. But I'm not getting the latest update because I heard there is a big chance of MC being corrupted if you play it.
I think this is the update that adds the 'boats' which I've seen in some pictures.

Yeah, it's coming out for Mac too. It'll be released on the same date as Windows. I don't know how it'll play on OS X though. But I have high hopes for it.

I'm using an iMac with 8GB RAM, which costs about $1,500. So I wouldn't recommend playing it on your PC. And you should get a better graphics card too.
Also, I'm getting the Windows version because the Mac version doesn't have the server list. You can still make your own servers by running the Windows version on Bootcamp or VirtualBox.
