Because there wasn't any real plot in that one. All I saw was Peter Parker getting bitten and Andrew Garfield punching a guy. Also, how do we know he's going to be a hero? Maybe he'll go on a murderous rampage because of his powers.

Yeah, but this time they're trying to make a better film than Spider-Man 3. There's a lot of movies that have done that. (For example: Batman & Robin -> The Dark Knight). I mean, let me tell ya', the script for Batman & Robin was awful!
