Here's the scenario. Two people are arguing about something that does not matter. Here is what they would look like, in real life.
The first one: "You are an idiot!"
The second: "I am an idiot! How dare you insult me like that!"
Now here's how it would REALLY be.
The first one: "You are an idiot!"
The second: "No, I'm not!"
The first: "Yes, you are!"
The second: "No, I'm not!"
The first: "Yes, you are!"
The second: "No, I'm not!"
The first: "YES, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!"
The second: "No, I'm not!"
The first: "YES, YOU ARE A BIG IDIOT!"
The second: "No, I'm not!"
The first: "YOU'RE DUMB!"
The second: "No, you are!"
The first: "NO, YOU'RE DUMB!"
The second: "No, you are!"
And then they just sit there for the next three hours, repeating the same exact thing over and over again. That's what you get when you argue about nothing.

*three hours later*
First person: "I hate you."
Second person: "No, you don't."
First person: "Yes, I do."
Second person: "No, you don't."
First person: "Yes, I do."
Second person: "No, you don't."
First person: "I hate you."
Second person: "No, you don't."
They would continue to argue until one of them gets hit by a car.

@Zane
This is how it is in my town. In your town, maybe not as much. But I've seen this happen too many times.
