My mom's side of the family lives in another state, so whenever we go visit them or they come here, I'm never allowed to be alone with my grandma. She's like 60 and I'm 13, but my parents think it'd be weird if a guy and an old lady were alone together for like 5 minutes.
I was just talking with my grandma today and then I saw my dad walking toward us, so I had to leave. And my mom was like "What? Why are you leaving?" when I told her what happened. It's annoying because I really like spending time with my grandma.

I get what you're saying, but in this case I don't think there's any reason for it to be awkward.

The way she acts around me makes me think she's still pretty young. Like when we go out shopping or something she always has to buy me something and she thinks she's being all cool by showing off to me.

She does act like she likes me, but I'm not interested. She's old enough to be my great-aunt.
