A volcano that is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World has been declared off limits after a deadly landslide.
The Ijen volcano in Indonesia erupted, sending clouds of ash and debris into the air as it spewed molten lava.
Local officials have decided to restrict access to the area and declare the entire area off limits, with some people already being forced out of their homes.
The ash cloud was so thick that it caused several flights to be canceled at Banyuwangi Airport, which is about an hour away from the volcano.
The National Disaster Mitigation Agency said that 10 villages near the mountain were forced to evacuate and that more than 2,000 residents were moved to temporary shelters.
A landslide caused by the eruption left at least three people dead, including two local guides.
"Two foreign tourists, a man and a woman, are currently trapped under volcanic material and efforts to rescue them are still ongoing," said Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the head of public relations for Indonesia's disaster management agency, the Associated Press reported.
"Local authorities said they had yet to find any more victims. But there are fears the death toll could rise," according to Reuters.
This is just the latest natural disaster to strike Indonesia, which was hit by a series of earthquakes in August and September, killing nearly 500 people.
