He told me that in the 1950's and 1960's, they used to do experiments with 3rd graders where they would take away their toys for a week. What happens? The kids get depressed.
But then there were other kids who didn't care. They didn't play with their toys much anyways.
So there is a difference between people who are addicted to things and those who aren't. If you take away an addicted person's toy, he/she will be miserable until they get it back. But others just won't really care.
