Is it really "I'm gonna make a sandwich" or is it just that we don't pronounce the i in the word im and the e in make?

Both.
It's I-ma-make-a-sandwich.
It's also Imma-make-a-sandwich.

@super
So it's a slang phrase?
Or do people not just pronounce the i and e wrong?

Some people say the "i" and "e".
Others don't.
