What if there was no sky to begin with? what would we do then? How would we make it rain if there are no clouds?

"What if there was no sky to begin with? what would we do then?" we would be walking around in an endless void "How would we make it rain if there are no clouds?" i dont know but we probably wouldnt have any rain because it is in a void

But the sun wouldn't shine either. I mean how else would we get any energy.

"the sun wouldn't shine either" the sun doesnt need to shine for us to live, as long as it's not too cold we're fine "i mean how else would we get any energy." we'd generate our own electricity using some sort of power generator or something

The sun can't be so far away though right? Or else I think there might be some kind of problem with the planets orbiting the sun.

"It can't be so far away though right?" sure it can "Or else I think there might be some kind of problem with the planets orbiting the sun." there could be a problem if the sun wasn't very far away (the sun is huge, after all)

The sun would be too close and then our planet would burn. If it was far enough away that our planet wouldn't be effected by heat then there would be no more sunlight for plants to grow.

"The sun would be too close and then our planet would burn" then maybe the planets orbit would be much further away "If it was far enough away that our planet wouldn't be effected by heat then there would be no more sunlight for plants to grow." i'm sure there are other sources of energy besides the sun

But then what about our weather? No more rain, no more storms, no more clouds. And also we wouldn't have any moon to make tides.

"But then what about our weather?" i dont know we can just ask science "no more rain, no more storms, no more clouds." maybe if the planet orbits closer to the sun it will get a bit warmer and clouds will still form (although i have no idea how this would affect the formation of clouds in particular) "And also we wouldn't have any moon to make tides." the moon is just a chunk of space rock so as long as it's still orbiting the planet there will be tides

"the moon is just a chunk of space rock so as long as it's still orbiting the planet there will be tides" actually nevermind that if there's no sky then there's nothing for the moon to orbit, so maybe not

Maybe the sun could just be a different color instead of orange. That way it would look like a completely different star that we never saw before.

@Vineshroom What if there was no gravity at all?

"Maybe the sun could just be a different color instead of orange. That way it would look like a completely different star that we never saw before." if the sun was any other colour besides red or orange it wouldn't be able to sustain life on earth "What if there was no gravity at all?" the world would turn into a big ball and everything on the surface would float around

What if there is no mass? No matter at all. There is only space, but what is that anyway?

"what if there is no mass" nothing would exist "No matter at all." nothing would exist either because it's impossible to exist without any mass at all "There is only space, but what is that anyway?" space is just an empty void

Then how could we move through space? If there is nothing to push off of then we would just stay still.

"Then how could we move through space?" we couldn't "If there is nothing to push off of then we would just stay still." if there isn't any mass at all then everything is technically just floating in space so yeah

And where did the planets come from? They were not made from matter, right?

"And where did the planets come from? They were not made from matter, right?" they came from an asteroid belt somewhere

What if they actually were made from matter? But there was no sun to keep them in orbit. What if they were just left on their own. Floating around in space?

"What if they actually were made from matter? But there was no sun to keep them in orbit. What if they were just left on their own. Floating around in space?" they'd all just float around and eventually they'd crash into each other until there's just one big planet left that orbits a different star system

What if the sun never existed in the first place? If it never existed then our planet would be floating aimlessly through space, just like any other planet.

"the sun never existed" then all stars wouldn't exist "our planet would be floating aimlessly through space" yes but we wouldn't have life because all the plants and animals would die
