I've been in two, both rear ended and I walked away with no injury.

3 times
2 times were rear ended
one time i was in the passenger seat and the car was going slow and all of a sudden we hit a truck that had stalled out. the guy driving got out of the car to check on the other driver and when he got back into the car i had moved the steering wheel to the right and put my hands down on it because i thought it would speed up the car so we could get away from the crash. i pushed the gas pedal but didn't brake. the other car came flying past us and hit another car next to us. all that happened within 5 minutes or so

The first one was at 100+ mph and the second one was at 40-50 mph. My car was totaled after that one.

I was lucky that I was sitting in the front seat, if I was in the back it probably would have been worse, maybe not though.

yeah, i got lucky on the third one too. it was a two way street and they were coming down hill and i was going up. it's usually 4 lanes but because of construction the left lane was blocked so the other car couldn't pass me. they were tailgating me and had their hazards on the whole time, so i kept driving until there was about 30 feet between them and me when the other guy pulled out and started driving like normal. i turned my hazards off and drove about 100 more feet before i heard a crunch and saw the light bar flash behind me. i looked to see a huge hole through the windshield and my side mirror was dangling off by its wires. the other car had hit me and pushed me into another car that was parked on the right lane. the other car was totaled as well as mine. i walked away with no injuries again though

Oh wow, I'm glad you're okay. Those three stories sound really scary. At least your car wasn't too bad in the first one.

I would imagine after an accident like that, your insurance is pretty high.

i had to pay $1,400 for the damage on my car. they said i didn't have to but because of all the damage it made sense to pay them the money instead of trying to get a new car. i don't know what they'd do with the money but it's still cheaper than a new car

Wow, you are lucky that the insurance company didn't sue you. It seems like they wouldn't give you any problems if you paid the money.

i'm lucky that i didn't get hurt. that's the main thing. it doesn't matter about the cars really, although it's always nice to get a new one

Yes, you're definitely lucky. I don't think many people would be lucky to escape without injuries after an accident.

yeah and i'm glad i wasn't hurt or anything. there was one person who died in the third crash though, but he was on the other side of the road going the opposite direction so we weren't involved in that

yeah i guess it'll all work out eventually. they have a warrant for the guy who caused the third one but i don't know if they've found him yet. probably not because they live 300 miles away lol

i haven't really been thinking about it much anyways. my insurance premium went up to $70/month after the first one. after the second one it went up to $80/month and now it's $90/month. i'm never going to get another car again unless i can afford to buy it outright with cash. i'd rather buy a house then spend money on cars.

It seems like you're better off without a car, since your insurance has gone up so much. At least you won't be driving anymore, which means you shouldn't be in any more accidents.

It depends how far you need to go, you might need to take a bus, but bikes are the best option if you can get one.
