This guy in my class has been going around saying that atheism is a religion and that we have to prove our religion.
So I asked him why he said it.
He said that atheism is a religion because we're denying the existence of his religion.
I asked what proof there was. He just said that the proof is out there, we just have to look for it. Then when I asked for an example of his proof, he said there isn't any. But then he also said he can't prove anything either. So in other words, his belief is as valid or invalid as my belief in his not existing.
He said it's a common argument among atheists, but I've never heard it before. What do you guys think about this?

I have heard arguments about it, but never a person say that atheists are a religion themselves. I mean, what kind of atheist would believe that? I wouldn't believe that either. But I still never thought it'd be someone to bring this up.
