The Earth is actually the planet in the middle of the sun. It's the only reason it doesn't burn up, because we're in the middle. Now, the sun is really just a giant furnace on top of us, which is why we get heat and light. So basically, the Earth is really a giant ball of molten rock with lava flowing around the outside.
