...called "Diversity in American Literature".
The syllabus has stuff like:
*Huckleberry Finn
*The Great Gatsby
*To Kill A Mockingbird
*Catcher In The Rye
I've been reading all of these books since 6th grade.
I even finished To Kill A Mockingbird in 7th grade.
I don't understand why we're doing this again.
We spent more than two weeks on Huckleberry Finn, and I'd bet that half of the class is only 30% done with it. We still have another week before we move onto something else, but I know we won't get past chapter 5.
Also, the teacher isn't really helping either.

You just gotta sit back and watch them fail.
That's what my dad always used to say.

My teacher is such an idiot.
She was talking about how "it takes place in Missouri" and how it was set in the 1800s.
All the while, I'm sitting there thinking "This book takes place in Iowa. Not Missouri."
And she had everyone write down the date that Huck and Jim left and arrived at the end of the book.
When I wrote down that it was around June-July, she looked at me funny as if I wrote something wrong.
I wasn't the only one who did this, though.
The girl in front of me wrote down March 1st, so I'm guessing the teacher wasn't paying attention or just didn't care.

She must be a complete failure in life, too, because she clearly isn't good enough to teach any sort of literature.

I think she's pretty cool and all.
It's just this class that makes me want to punch her in the face.
She never explains anything, either. She always says things like:
*Go read chapter 6
*We're not doing that chapter until next week
So basically, I have to sit here and do nothing for a couple days.
I hate my life right now.

Yeah, you gotta take that class that you'll actually learn something from. You'll need it later on in life.

I mean, I guess I will eventually get a job and stuff...
But what does "Diversity in American Literature" have to do with that?
Doesn't even make sense.

Yeah. She's a bad teacher. It doesn't matter how 'cool' she is because it won't help you pass that class.

Yeah, I'm just gonna drop this class and take some other class that isn't so boring.
