I would always say, "That's not fair!" to everything. Like, "THAT'S NOT FAIR! THAT'S SO UNJUST! IT'S SO RACIST!"
I've never thought about the fact that it's not fair for you to steal food from me or punch me in the face.

@Sle
No. Most people don't learn grammar until middle school because they're so used to using improper English. And then they get an education in middle school.

Because you're a genius and you probably learned how to read in Kindergarten.

I've always been able to read better than others my age. I was reading chapter books by the time I was 4.

It's not just you, though. I'm pretty sure most children are like this. It's just that I never noticed it.

If that were the case, then there would be a lot more illiterate people on this planet.

Well, if most children are like us, then there are still many who don't learn how to read as well as we did.

Yeah. But that's probably because they didn't have parents like us. If they had parents like us, they would learn faster.

Maybe, but I'm not so sure. Reading is such an interesting hobby, and not everyone likes to read.

I guess you're right. It's just that I've never met anyone who's younger than me but can read better. But then again, it's only my opinion.

It's hard to compare other people's reading skills with your own. Not everyone has the same intelligence or the same drive to read. Some may just be slower learners and others could be simply less interested.

You know what's weird?
I can't spell "slower" properly without using spellcheck.

That's really weird. I've been reading a lot more than most of my friends since I was young, yet I still can't spell like them. They can spell most words correctly on their first try, and I have to spend some time trying to figure out how to spell it.

Yeah, and I've noticed that the more I read, the worse my spelling gets. When I was younger, I used to have very good grammar and spelling. But then I got a bit lazy.

I'm sure that's true for most people who read often, but not everyone has the same intelligence or the same drive to read. Reading isn't just about getting smarter, it also involves being interested in what you're reading. If you don't care about what you're reading, then there's no point in reading. You just end up wasting your time. That's why it's hard to compare other people's reading skills with your own. Not everyone has the same intelligence or the same drive to read. Some may just be slower learners and others could be simply less interested.
