My CPU is an Intel Core i7-2600K. My RAM is 16 GB.
And yet, when I go to launch Portal 2, Half Life 2, or Counterstrike: Source, they all crash.
I tried re-downloading the games, but I still get crashes. Anybody know how to fix this?

You don't have enough RAM for a Core i7 Processor, that's why you're getting crashes.

The game won't even start. It goes into "Loading..." mode, then the computer shuts down.

Well, do you have enough space on your hard drive?
What OS are you using?

I'm running Windows 7.
And there's over 100 GB of space left on the hard drive.

Can you try restarting the computer and trying it again?
If that doesn't work, I'll have to go home and try it myself. :P
