Do the following:
- Download Audacity
- Upload a song to youtube (not a full one, just like 15 seconds) using the program
- Go into the sound settings and make it so your voice is really quiet
- Listen to it with headphones on.
If you can hear yourself singing at this volume, then you're probably good :)

I never get any good results when I do that. Maybe its because my voice gets drowned out by my guitar.
I wonder if that is true for vocals. Because they are also drowned out by my guitar.

Then you should have the same issue on the recordings that you upload to youtube
