It's called EST, for Eastern Standard Time.
But why not call it Central Standard Time (CST)?
I like how they are completely bias towards the east coast of the United States.

because the central timezone has less population than the eastern

if you live in canada or another country and don't follow the US times then I can see why that would seem unfair
