Linkin Park are an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000), which later became a multi-platinum best-seller sold out more than 20 million copies worldwide.[1] Their following studio album Meteora continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 and was the twenty-first best-selling album of 2003 in the U.S., with over three million copies sold.[2] Linkin Park achieved further worldwide success with their third album Minutes to Midnight (2007), which topped the charts in various countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Switzerland.[3] The album had the fourth best debut week ever for a rock album.[4]
Linkin Park continued their series of worldwide album sales with their fourth album A Thousand Suns (2010). The band's first live album, Live in Texas was released in November 2010.[5] Linkin Park's fifth album Living Things (2012) was released in June and topped the charts in Australia, Canada, Mexico and South Korea.[6][7] Their sixth album The Hunting Party (2014), was released on June 13. Their seventh album One More Light (2017) was released on May 19, 2017. Their seventh studio album, One More Light, was released in May 2017.
Linkin Park are one of the most successful rock bands of modern times, selling more than 50 million albums worldwide and topping the chart in more than 30 countries. Rolling Stone magazine has called them the "Biggest Rock Band In The World" while MTV called them "The Biggest Band That You Have Never Heard Of".[8]
