- Good story/plot
- Good gameplay that matches the theme and is balanced
- Good art, but not to the point where it has no story or gameplay (for example: Dead Space 2 looks gorgeous, but the story isn't great)
- Originality, but not too original where it can't connect to other games.
My favorite games that fit all of those criteria are Dead Space 2, Batman Arkham Asylum and City, The Walking Dead, Half Life series, Uncharted, BioShock Series, and some others.
What's your opinion?

Good graphics.
Laggy.
Bad gameplay that is unbalanced.
No originality.
Copy and paste.

The best thing about Call Of Duty, is the graphics. The best thing about Dead Space, is gameplay. I don't care if its originality, its how you like the game. If it was original, then it wouldn't be that popular.

@TDC - This post is directed toward quality games (like Call of Duty and Dead Space, etc.).
@Jason - True, though I do feel like a game that's a copy of another game and lacks the same amount of quality as the games it copies would just be bad. I still think originality is important even though you can like a game because it's similar to another one you enjoy.

I don't care about the art in a game. It's just pixels on a screen. I care more about the story, characters, and gameplay. I'm more interested in a story than anything else when it comes to an RPG.
