They might not have ended up making a 7th season if not for the 9/11 tragedy. The writers said that they would've stopped with 6 seasons if 9/11 hadn't happened.

I don't know if I agree with you on that one. Season 7 was pretty good and there's also a lot of fan favorites in it such as "Treehouse Of Horror VI" and "Radioactive Man".
