Why do we have to sleep? Can't we just stay awake all the time and not need sleep?

Sleeping is actually very bad for us. We should try and not sleep as often as possible, because when we are asleep, our bodies become inactive. When our bodies become inactive, they go through a process called decay, which happens slowly when we are asleep.

If there was some kind of pill or medicine that you could take that would keep you awake, you could live longer than normal people.
