The truth about why we don't get paid for ads.

This is going to be long, so I'll explain everything in detail. So, you might have heard this before: "ROBLOX only pays out on 1% of ad impressions." That means that ROBLOX gives you money if your ad shows up once. Now, let's say you run a 200,000 impression ad campaign, and the ad shows up exactly once. You get paid for 1 impression, but what happened to the rest? Well, let's go back to when you submitted your ad. The ad is reviewed by an admin, who looks it over and decides whether or not it can stay online. Let's say the ad passes. It's then approved by ROBLOX's servers and put into a pool where they will randomly choose images to show users as ads. Say there were 10 ads in that pool, and yours was number five. Now, ROBLOX will then pick an image from that pool and serve it to every user. This could happen a thousand times. After all that, the ad would've been shown 1000 times, and the user has seen your ad exactly once (because it was served at number five). The problem here is that ROBLOX doesn't count ads based on the number of times they are shown, but instead on the number of times they are clicked. The thing is, users don't always click on an ad even after seeing it multiple times. So let's say your ad got picked every single time, and the user saw it 200,000 times. But let's say he only clicked the ad 20,000 times. You only get paid for the clicks, so in this case you'd be making $200 per click. Now, you might think I'm wrong and that they should just make it so they pay you based on impressions. Well, what if you run an ad with the same image over and over again? They could detect this and block you from running any more ads. Or, they could set some sort of limit on how many times an ad can be shown before being blocked. There's also the matter of people who make images that look like ads and put them into their games as scenery. It's a pretty common trick to get people to play your game and visit the page with the actual ad. You can't do anything about it, either, because if they do detect this, then they won't show your ad. Anyway, you have to keep these things in mind when you're designing your own ads, or else you'll end up losing money.

@TheRealMickFoley You're going to run out of money if you keep running ads like that.
