The show is awful. The fanfics I can understand because most of them aren't bad, although they aren't good either.
But why watch something for its fanfic stories?

I have never watched an episode of MLP nor read one of its fanfics in my life. Therefore, I am sure it sucks. I don't need your opinion to confirm this.

The show has a lot of problems, but I think part of why they love it so much is because of the community. You find a bunch of people online who share a common interest, and you can share ideas, fanart, and other things related to it. They have conventions for it too, which I'm sure many people attend as well.

I just think the show looks dumb, as it has these pretty stupid looking ponies.
I know that many of them may be meant to look like female versions of male ponies, but if you look at the faces it still looks stupid.

Yeah, I don't really like the show either. It's not really my thing, but I'm glad it got me involved in some pretty cool communities.
There are some decent MLP fans out there (though I've met a few bad ones as well).

Well the show seems a bit childish for me, but I still like it.
I love all the fanfics though, most of them are written by girls so I think they're better than usual.
