i think it would depend on context, if i was a friend with a girl i'd expect her not to steal my boyfriends (if i had any) so i'd consider myself friends with her, but that doesn't mean we can't go out or anything, you get me?

I'm talking about the way she said it.
If she just said "Hey, I like you" then she means more than a "Friend"
If she just says "I like you as a friend" it's clear that she doesn't want anything else from you.
