Well, not really. If you read the story of the crucifixion, the people had no idea that he'd rise again. They just wanted him outta there, and the only way they could do it was by crucifying him. Then they got scared, and went into hiding. Not even his disciples knew that he was going to come back from the dead, so how did they even know?

Well, if they were scared for their lives they would have gone into hiding, but they didn't. Also, Jesus' disciple knew.

I think I need to explain this more... In the story, it says that nobody expected Jesus to come back. He basically said, "I'm leaving, then I'll come back later," then left. After he left, he was crucified on a cross. The people were like, "Oh, he's not coming back." Then after that, they hid in fear because they thought that Jesus was going to come back, and take revenge on them. Then he did, and resurrected. How'd they know? They had no idea! And to top that off, it wasn't even one of Jesus' disciples who told 'em. It was Peter who saw him first. If you ask me, he was lying just so he could get outta there.
