therefore, if you have a life, you are living, but there are also some people that don't have anything else to do, so they call people who have no internet friends, "have life."

its actually a metaphorical phrase used in the sense that having the internet is like having a social life, and not having one is like not having anything going on in your life. this is why people say you need a life if you are always on the internet or something.
