I was born in a small town in 1996. I grew up poor, with no friends or family. I had nothing to do all day except play video games, so I became obsessed with them.
As I got older, my addiction grew worse and worse until it consumed my entire life. I dropped out of school and started living on the streets, playing video games for hours on end.
People thought I was crazy, but they didn't understand what it felt like to be addicted to video games. It's an obsession that can't be explained.
As years passed, my addiction only grew stronger. I would play nonstop for days at a time, forgetting to eat or sleep. People started to notice that something wasn't right.
Eventually, I ended up in the hospital, where doctors diagnosed me with severe video game addiction. They told me that if I didn't get help soon, I would die.
That's when I made the decision to get treatment. I went through intensive therapy and counseling, and slowly but surely, my addiction began to weaken.
Nowadays, I'm doing much better. I've gotten back into school and am working towards a degree in psychology. I hope to use my experiences with addiction to help others who may be struggling as well.
Thankfully, my story has a happy ending. But this could easily have been avoided had I sought help sooner. So to anyone reading this who may be struggling with addiction: don't wait until it's too late. Get help now before it consumes your life completely.
I have a secret though, this isn't real. The real name is joshtheplayer and I am really a player in OT
