Exactly.
It may seem like a paradox but it is true.
If you stop thinking about it and continue on with life, you will feel better and then you will probably die sooner because you were feeling better. But since you don't care anymore, you don't really care if you die sooner or later. You just continue on with your life as usual.

well i guess ignoring it would be better to keep the memories of my family intact so they can say "oh yeah, you were weird" instead of "why did you get depressed so suddenly"
