There are two types of people who believe in the Mayan Calendar:
1. They use it as a reason to party
2. They use it as a reason to cry
Those who use it as a reason to party will live longer, because there will be more people alive if we are still around.

The Mayans did not predict Armageddon.
They were simply predicting the end of their calendar, which coincidentally, in 2012.

The Mayan Calendar ended on 21st December 2012 because they didn't know how to continue it.
They were also smart enough to put in a fail-safe if they really did go wrong.

It may not, but this is like the end of the universe, when there is a big bang. The universe is expanding and expanding, until eventually, it stops expanding... And then what happens? It starts contracting, and it could all just collapse into one massive black hole.
