because vista was microsoft's version of what they had done with mac os x in the mid to late 90s
and because os x was microsoft's version of it, and it was a failure, which led to them creating 7, which was an improvement on 2003 server edition, but still not as good as os x

I liked vista because of the new look and I didn't get why people hated it. But then I found out that it has a bunch of performance issues and stuff, so I switched back to XP :/

"XP is better."
XP and Vista both have bad security patches.

Because windows 95 and 98 were so good and windows xp was not an improvement. The only thing they improved were the graphics. So everyone just stayed on 98 because it worked great and had everything you needed. And then microsoft made vista which was like a huge step down from windows xp. They went all the way down to using system32 for things again and added a lot of bloat to their os.
