The whole day they kept on having announcements about "if you hear the fire alarm or something just sit tight and don't move" or something
I don't get it, if we're not supposed to do anything then why does my school have drills?

It's for emergencies. Just in case something goes down, like a shooter or whatever.

Yeah, and if you see someone in the halls, try to get him/her to go back to their classroom. If they don't move, you call 911.
