I have been thinking about this for a long time. How did the universe and everything in it, even this planet we live on, come to exist? I know that when we were younger we were taught that god made it all, but that's just not true. Someone told me that they found out that everything in existence has always existed, so no one ever created it. But that doesn't make sense because nothing can just appear out of nowhere. So how do we know that the universe wasn't created by something or someone else?

No, I mean, where was he before the universe existed? He had to exist before he could make the universe.

I don't think that's possible. If nothing could have been before the universe then nothing could have been before him either. You're basically saying there was nothing and then that nothing made the universe.

You said he told you on a forum. That means you were over 13 when you joined this forum.

What if you're just making up what your parents taught you? What if god doesn't exist?

Well then I guess we'll never know. Unless god reveals himself to me, which is highly doubtful. So for now, I'm gonna go with the theory that no one created the universe, and that it has always existed.

I know what you mean. It's really difficult to understand this stuff. The only reason we can figure anything out about the universe is because we are able to use our five senses. But that doesn't make sense either. How would we be able to have these senses if we weren't a part of the universe? That means we must exist inside the universe as well, and that makes us part of it.

Yeah, I guess we'll never know for sure. So we might as well believe in god.
