I'll start with the ones that are least my favorite and work to my favorite.
So, let's begin:
The Beatles "The White Album"
I don't know why I put this at the bottom. It just doesn't click for me. It feels like there are many filler tracks, and some of them feel really outdated and silly. I think it's one of their weaker works. That's not to say it's bad. In fact, I like the first half of the album much better than the second. Still, this is far from my favorite album by The Beatles.
Now, we move onto....
Led Zeppelin "In Through the Out Door"
I've always liked Led Zeppelin, but this was a big step back for them, in my opinion. There's no denying that there are some great songs on here. And there's an attempt at some new ideas, which is always good to see, but I feel like they didn't fully realize these new ideas enough for it to work. Also, it's kind of boring. If I want boring, I can listen to the Beatles, who at least have some sort of interesting subject matter. But, still, not bad.
Okay, now we're getting closer to the middle. Let's see what album we'll find next...
Led Zeppelin "Houses of The Holy"
I like this album a lot more than the previous entry. It has a more cohesive feel to me, and I feel like they were able to pull off what they set out to do with this album. Still, it doesn't quite reach the level of their best works. I really like the last half of the album though.
Alright, let's see if we can get into the top 5 now.
David Bowie "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars"
This album is so good. There's just something about it that makes it so enjoyable. David Bowie had always been an artist that tried to break boundaries, and this album is no different. You've got a futuristic concept album, which is something you don't hear very often, and it's executed perfectly.
Now, here's one that I know will be in my top 3.
Bob Dylan "Blood on The Tracks"
One of his most personal and emotional albums. Bob Dylan does a great job of displaying his thoughts and feelings through this record, and it's one of those records that I could listen to every single day without getting bored. There are only 11 songs, but each song is so well crafted, and so unique. This is definitely one of my favorite albums of all time.
There's one more, and this one may come as a surprise.
Pink Floyd "The Wall"
This is another one of those albums with a concept, and I'm not really into concept albums, but this one works. It's like the rock opera of concept albums. There's something for everyone. The music is amazing, and the lyrics are some of Pink Floyd's best, and also their darkest. This album is a masterpiece.
So, there we have it! Those were my favorite albums. There were a lot more I wanted to add, but I just ran out of time, so I'll do a part two maybe in the near future.
