its always a mess
the only time there wasnt a mess was in 2008 and even then there were some minor things that could've been handled better.

I feel like it's gonna go into a full on meltdown. All the candidates are bad, and I doubt anyone can unite everyone.

well it was a pretty good election year in terms of media coverage. there was no crazy stuff to distract from the candidates themselves and all their bs so it made for some entertaining coverage.

Well, what happens when one candidate gets the nomination? Can they still run?

this is how i see it playing out:
bernie's people will throw a tantrum and either endorse him or stay home
hillary will get the nod after a few days of deliberation
hillary will select a VP and it'll be announced at the convention (or not until right before)
donald will throw a temper tantrum over how rigged the election is and claim the electoral college is a conspiracy to keep him down so he'll refuse to accept the result
a riot will start in new york city and spread to other major cities across the country
obama will announce martial law and the military will be deployed in major cities and on the streets of DC
but this is also the year of my birth so it's ok

i also think we're going to have an economic crisis very soon because of all the money the government's been spending on bailing out banks and keeping the economy from tanking since 08' that was supposed to end up paying for itself but hasnt, which is why it took them so long to end QE. the next recession is coming whether you like it or not, and i don't think we've recovered yet.
but this is also the year of my birth so it's ok

The economy can survive this.
What I'm more worried about is our foreign relations. We need to take care of business.

we haven't recovered yet. we're just running off of borrowed money and we'll all be in debt to china when they call it in.
but this is also the year of my birth so it's ok

China isn't stupid enough to call it in.
I mean if they did, everyone would go into a panic, which would be bad for everyone.

they are, because we're spending so much more than we make. we have to pay back our debts sooner or later and china will eventually get tired of lending us money and put pressure on us until we do something about it, like cut down government spending or raise taxes.
but this is also the year of my birth so it's ok

@notsoaveragekid
actually the economy can't survive a recession unless you're the US. China will eventually run out of money to lend them and the world won't be able to afford it anymore so the US would either go into default or get kicked out of the international currency system and everything would crash. we'll never recover then. but hopefully that wont happen, it looks like things are getting better but it could also get worse
