Last night, I went camping with some friends. Here's what happened
We left at around 5:30, got to the campsite at about 7:00. Set up the tent (this was my first time camping), and it took us a while to finish the tent, and it was kinda dark by then.
After we were done, we cooked dinner. It was hot dogs and beans. Not the most exciting food, but it tasted good. We sat around talking for a while, then our friends left.
It got darker and darker, and it started raining. The ground was so wet, we had trouble getting out of the tent. Then, lightning struck near us! A lot of thunder happened after that. And when it stopped, we heard a really weird noise. It sounded like a human screaming, and it was really loud and scary.
A few hours later, I woke up because of a strange sound. I thought it was just a raccoon or something. But when I turned on my flashlight, I saw a huge black thing trying to bite me. It was like a giant rat. I screamed, and my friend woke up. He picked up his shotgun and shot the thing in the head.
The next day, we went home. When we got there, we checked our phone messages. There was one message from a woman named Janet. She said "Hi, I just heard about your son's death. I hope you can get through this." At first, we didn't know what she meant, but my friend's sister explained it all to us. Apparently, there was a guy who lived near our campsite. He had a very bad reputation. He killed a lot of people, and he liked to eat humans. And right after we shot the rat thing, he came to our campsite. He broke into our tent while we were sleeping, grabbed us out of our sleeping bags and ate our bodies.
And that is my first night of camping.

I guess it could have been more believable if I told you how I woke up the next morning. When I got home from school, I went to my parents' bedroom. My mom was crying on my dad's shoulder. She told me what happened.
But when I checked the news, they didn't say anything about some guy who eats people or whatever.
