It's not a glitch.
It's a feature that they made because people who quit could come back with new accounts and people would think they were the same person, which is annoying. You need to go through a group to get your name changed.

because then you wouldn't have to pay robux
if it wasn't for groups u would've been forced to pay 5k robux for it
or if u had a group
then all of ur members would be able to change their names for free
