Rental companies never charge you for damage. They don't care if the car looks like it got hit by a truck. They aren't going to give you an extra bill. They'll just take the vehicle back.

Are you talking about the insurance or the rental company? Because if you didn't buy insurance then they would obviously charge you something for the damages.
