I hate it when people try to correct others, and say that they are wrong. I believe if you want someone to correct a mistake you need to point it out and let them fix it themselves. I know it seems more like I'm correcting others by telling them not to correct others but it is just common sense.

@OP That's the thing... You didn't realize you were saying it. :P

@Nairb I actually did realize that, but I'm still telling people that they shouldn't correct me or anyone else for that matter, I'm just going against my own advice.

@Nairb Well now you are correcting me on the fact that I am telling people not to correct me.

@OP You're saying that if someone wants someone to correct something, then they should just point it out instead of telling them they're wrong. :3

@OP Okay, so your example was this: "Hi, I hate it when people try to correct others, and say that they are wrong. I believe if you want someone to correct a mistake you need to point it out and let them fix it themselves. I know it seems more like I'm correcting others by telling them not to correct others but it is just common sense." So, in essence, you were saying that if you want to correct someone who has made a mistake, then you should simply point it out without telling them they have done something wrong. If so, then yes, your advice on correcting others is self-defeating.

I know my advice is self defeating, but it's still the right thing to do.

@OP It may be the right thing to do, but if you tell people not to correct others when you yourself make an error, then you are contradicting yourself, thus making your advice null and void.

@Nairb I agree with everything you have said and I am not trying to be a hypocrite. This is why I am telling people not to correct me for being a hypocrite because I don't want people to try and correct me on what I'm doing now. My advice is still the right thing to do though.
