He says "I'll pay you 10K if you let me put a bullet in your head.".

No. The deal is the guy can't give you anything else but 10K for letting him shoot a bullet into your brain. You don't get money until after he does it, and then you only get 10K.

It's like the opposite of that. If you accept the deal and you live, you won't get any money.
If you accept and die, the guy will pay you 10K.
