you can't just buy an old computer and expect it to work
unless it's a vintage piece, you can just buy an old computer off the street and have no idea what you're doing with it

What do you mean? If you buy it off someone they usually have some sort of guarantee that it will work or you get your money back.

the computer may look like its in good condition but the components inside might be corroded and outdated, so you can only know by disassembling it.
