But that's not what I was saying. I'm talking about being offended by what others do or say. Like, if someone says "All black people are criminals" that's offensive but there is no need for the person to be offended.

then why did you title your thread with "i hate when people get offended"
and not something along the lines of "people should take responsibility for their actions instead of acting like victims"
the point i'm trying to make is that the phrase you used is extremely ambiguous and it can easily be misinterpreted
it seems like you're trying to criticize people who feel offended for some reason, which in turn could be offensive
so yeah you really shouldn't have phrased it like that

yeah but i mean you should've clarified that in the body of your post to avoid misunderstandings, and you should probably use different wording
i mean you can go ahead and argue if that's how you feel but this thread seems like a pretty bad representation of how you feel
also there's nothing wrong with being offended and taking offense; i mean if i say something that offends someone then i guess i should stop saying those things if they cause offense
but on the other hand, i should also be allowed to say what i want, even if it does offend other people, and i should not be blamed if somebody gets offended by it

i've been trying to explain my views and why you shouldn't have phrased it like that, and i've also been trying to explain why i disagree with that part of your opinion
you've been refusing to listen so i'm going to continue doing what i can do to make you understand

I get offended when people act like they are a victim when they are not. People should not be allowed to make false statements. If someone says "I'm going to kill you." That is not offensive. However if someone says "Black people are criminals" that's racist and offensive. But they shouldn't be offended because they did nothing wrong.

okay well first off, i've never acted like i was a victim
and secondly, why should i give a damn about other peoples feelings in general
like i mean if someone gets offended then that's their problem, it's not my fault that they got offended, and i shouldn't be blamed for it

but anyway
i guess the best way to describe it would be to say that i agree that the person who makes the offensive statement shouldn't have said it and that they should take responsibility for what they said
i'm also not against punishing people for saying offensive things (in certain situations)
but it really doesn't make any sense to punish or blame people for being offended by something that another person has done, and it's not okay to do so either
