well i'm not sure if you're american or not, so i don't know where your homeland is. if it's not in latin america or europe i wouldn't recommend you going there.
i'm pretty sure that the US is friendly enough towards hispanics though, so you should be fine if you stay here.

if you want to be fluent in both spanish and english you'll have to put in a lot more work than just learning them individually, but as long as you're willing to do that then you should be fine.
